Your first budget
You start with 24 standard departments. Lines total as rate times multiplier, deleted lines can come back, and the whole budget exports as a PDF.

Open the departments

Open the Budget tab
The first time, the app fills in 24 standard departments, from 100 Story & Rights to 510 General & Administrative.
Show or hide empty ones
The Top Sheet Summary lists only departments that have lines or suggested rows. Show All Depts lists every one; Hide Empty goes back.
Jump to a department
Click a row in the top sheet to open that department and scroll to it.
Add a line item

Press Add line item
It sits at the bottom of each department. A blank row opens with the cursor in Description.
Fill the row
Type what you’re paying for. Pick a Unit: day, week or flat. Enter the Rate and the multiplier under x. A camera operator for 18 days is DAY, 420, x18.
Press Enter
The line saves and Allow shows rate times multiplier. Escape throws the row away. Clicking elsewhere saves it too, as long as it has a description.
Change a line

Click any cell
Description, unit, rate, multiplier and Actual are all editable in place. Enter saves and moves down a row. The up and down arrows move between rows. Escape drops the change.
Delete a line
Hover the line and click the bin at the end. Confirm in Delete line item?.
Bring it back
Show Deleted lists deleted lines, struck through, under each department. The arrow at the end restores one.
Add your own department

Press Add Department
It sits under the top sheet. Type a Department Name and press Add Department or Enter.
Check the code
A new department takes the next free code, 10 above the highest one. It carries a custom tag.
Rename or delete
Double-click any department’s name to rename it. Custom departments have a bin icon that deletes them straight away, with no confirm.
Export

Export PDF downloads the whole budget. The blue pill next to it counts the shoot days on the Schedule.
