The dispatch console

Crew who chose to share their location show on the map. Comms is the same chat crew see on their phones. The board has three columns: Assigned, En route and Done.

Live Crew Map

The Live Crew Map with crew pins around the set

Each person is a round pin with their initials, in their own color. The count above the map says how many people are sharing right now.

Click a pin to see who it is, their role, when their position last came in and how much battery their phone has. The click also draws their trail, the path they took lately. A chip at the top left names whose trail is up. Click the chip to hide it.

People only show up after they turn on Share my location on the Runner map in CinemaCrew, and they can turn it off at any time. When no one is sharing, the map says so.

Comms

Comms next to the map, with room chips and the All Crew thread

This is the chat crew see in the app, so a message you send here reaches their phone. Switch between Rooms and Contacts at the top.

Each department gets a room, and crew join their own department’s room without being asked. A red dot on a room means unread messages. In a thread, press Enter to send and Shift+Enter for a new line. The camera button adds a photo or clip. Hover over your own message and click × to delete it.

You can read every room from the web. To post, you need your own row on the crew list in Team.

Add a room or let someone in

  1. Add a room

Click + Room, type a name like “Stunts”, and click Create. The × next to a room you made deletes it. Department rooms can’t be deleted.

  2. Open its access list

Pick the room, then click Manage access. It lists who has been added by hand.

  3. Add or remove people

Choose someone from Add crew to this room…. Click Remove next to a name to take them out.

Only the production office can add rooms, delete them and hand out access. Crew see the rooms they belong to.

Contacts

The crew contact sheet, grouped by department

The contact sheet lists the crew by department. Phone numbers and emails are links, so one click calls or writes. Each person reads Shared with dept or Private, which they choose in the app. If you can edit the team, Connect device signs a phone in as that person.

The errands board

The errands board with its Assigned, En route and Done columns

The header counts open and done errands. Each card shows the title, the address, who has it and when it’s due. A due time turns red once it has passed. Done cards fade and say how long ago they were finished.

An errand card with its buttons, the assignee chip and the status switch

Photo adds a picture to the errand, and photos show as small thumbnails on the card. They also land in Media. Edit opens the same form as New Errand. Delete asks first, then removes the errand for good.

Column Means Who moves it
Assigned Given out, not started yet. You, when you create it.
En route The runner is on the way. The runner, or you.
Done Finished. The runner, or you.

The board has no ETA. Each runner sees their own ETA in the app, since it depends on where they are.
