Stages, tabs and help mode

A project has three stages: Development, Production and Post-Production. Each stage shows its own tabs, in the order you set in Settings → Stages. Show Help in the project header adds a tooltip to the controls on screen.

The three stages

Production tabs, with the round fold button at the left

Switch stages with the three buttons above the project header. Each one opens on the tab you last used there. Your data stays the same; only the tabs change.

Development

Almost every tab: Scripts, Designs, Locations, Scouting, Breakdown, Characters, Wardrobe, Props, Scenes, Storyboards, Shots, Schedule, Callsheets, Budget, Deals and more.

Production

Errands comes in, for the crew map and runners. Designs, Characters, Wardrobe, Props, Storyboards and Deals drop out.

Post-Production

Scripts, Scenes, Budget, Deals, Media, Video Village, Takes, Editing and Cut.

Team and Data are in every stage and can’t be hidden. Only the project owner sees Data. A tab you have no rights to view is left out of the strip.

The round button at the left of the strip folds the strip away. Press it again to bring the tabs back. When the strip is wider than the screen, arrows appear at its ends to scroll it.

Choose and order your tabs

Settings → Stages with a card per stage, drag handles, the opens badge and the Hidden list
  1. Open Settings → Stages

Go to Settings in the dashboard sidebar and pick the Stages tab. There is one card per stage.

  2. Show or hide tabs

Untick a tab to move it to the stage’s Hidden list. Tick a hidden tab to add it to the end of the stage. A tab can be in more than one stage.

  3. Drag to reorder

Drag a row by its handle. An orange line shows where it will land. The first tab carries an opens badge: it is where that stage opens.

  4. Save

Press Save. Reset to Defaults puts every stage back to the standard set. Reset changes nothing until you save.

The order is saved to your account, so it follows you to every project. When a new tab ships, it is added to the end of your saved order.

Show Help

Help mode on, with a tooltip over a button and its Read the guide link

Press Show Help in the project header. Rest the pointer on a control for half a second and a tooltip says what it does. Read the guide → opens the matching guide page in a new tab. Hide Help in the tooltip or the header turns it off.

The browser remembers the setting, so help stays on until you turn it off. It needs a mouse or trackpad and does nothing on a touch screen.

A PRO badge marks a tab or stage the project’s plan doesn’t include. It follows the owner’s plan, so the whole team sees the same badges. Plans and credits lists what each plan covers.
