Folders, sources and access
Source is where a photo came from and never changes. Folder is where you filed it and sets who can see it. A photo in no folder is open to the whole project.
Sources
Every photo has a source, set when it’s taken. It can’t be changed. The tile shows it as a small label in the bottom left.
| Source | Where it came from |
|---|---|
| Chat | Sent with a message in crew comms. |
| Errand | Added to an errand, often proof of a pickup. |
| Scouting | Taken of a scouted item. |
| Location | Taken for a location. |
| Unattached | Added straight to the tab. These tiles have no label. |
Folders
Folders are how you sort photos, and they also set who can see them. There are two kinds on the Folders row:
- ◆ Department folders are made for you, one per department on the crew list. Everyone in that department can see what’s in theirs.
- ● Your own folders are the ones you add with New folder. You’re on the list for any folder you make.
Hover a folder chip to see who it’s open to. The production office sees every folder. Everyone else sees their own department’s folder and any folder they’ve been added to, and nothing else is sent to them.
Unfiled means open
A photo in no folder is open to the whole project. That’s why nothing vanished when folders were added. Filing a photo in a folder narrows who can see it.
Taking a photo back out of a folder opens it up again. Only the folder’s owner or the production office can do that. Anyone else sees Only this folder’s owner can make it visible to the whole project in the Move to folder list.
